The McClatchy Journalism Institute works with contributors of all kinds and sizes interested in innovative ways of supporting local journalism. The Institute is an independent, non-profit organization that serves as a liaison between news organizations across the country and foundations, donors and individuals to support high-quality journalism projects.
Our role is to work with potential contributors, facilitate contributions, watch over projects undertaken by newsrooms and help to expand philanthropic-supported work with all local newsrooms. We work with donors at every level of the process, from initial inquiries to completing projects and assessing accomplishments.
If you have questions about opportunities, or would like to know more about the Institute, please message us through this form and we’ll respond shortly.
Elsewhere on this website, we go into detail about how we work with newsrooms, how the funding process works and the leadership of the Institute.
We look forward to talking with you further about this important work and how you might get involved.
