Community Fund to support Philadelphia media
April 28: The Independence Public Media Foundation, the Lenfest Institute for Journalism, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and the Knight-Lenfest Local News Transformation Fund launched the Philadelphia COVID-19 Community Information Fund, a $2.52 million fund created to support regional media organizations navigating the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Fund dedicated $1.75 million in initial funding to Resolve Philly, WHYY, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and WURD Radio. An additional $750,000 will be awarded to media organizations within the Philadelphia region. Applications opened on April 28, 2020. The deadline to apply is May 28th, 2020 at 11:59pm EDT.
